The ChallEnge
Matchbox London was a boutique design agency catering to high-profile property and lifestyle clients. To keep the momentum of bringing in new exciting clients and to also raise some advertising revenue the project was to create a first-of-it’s kind immersive B2C West London digital magazine. This challenge was pretty huge, but we were all hungry for the adventure. The magazine would need a name, a masthead logo, creative direction, digital exploration and a whole lot of passion. No problem at all!

The Solution
The creative team dived headlong into a flurry of designing, covering name word-mapping, work-mark exploration, creative direction and content planning. The Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (ADPS) was the best software at the time. Yes… this project is quite a few years old now but I still love it. We were all treading on new gronud, experimenting with the limits of ADPS, using interactions, gestures and creating custom animations and codes which were only used for one or two articles. It wasn't 'best practice' but we were having fun! It hasn't been documented very well but there was a mobile version of the magazine too. Along with the desktop website and the printed quarterly we covered all the key touch points.

The Result
The digital magazine, along with its supporting website and printed quarterly gathered quite an impressive readership, which ran kept it alive and running for six issues over twelve months. It helped to land new advertising deals and leveraged Matchbox London as a leading design studio specialising in retail and property which, as planned, led to new exciting work.
